Clinical Manager – Adolescent Behavioral Health

We are seeking a Clinical Manager for Adolescent Behavioral Health at Newport Hospital in Newport, RI. Using your clinical expertise in behavioral health and excellent interpersonal skills, you will ensure the department’s overall quality of service and supervise team members.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities and operations of the department and patient care
  • Demonstrate clinical expertise with knowledge of the different needs of patients presenting with behavioral health concerns
  • Partner with the patient and family in evaluating outcomes and provide appropriate education regarding all aspects of care
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels, appropriately trained staff and the most efficient use of resources
  • Recruit and hire new staff, oversee orientation and participate in the performance management process
  • Foster effective team dynamics and participate in professional development through preceptor/mentor activities
  • Cover as Nurse Supervisor on evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, as needed
  • Maintain compliance with ANCC Magnet designation requirements and participate in credentialling process

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required; master’s preferred
  • Nursing management experience preferred
  • Certification in Nursing Administration or specialty with 18 months of hire
  • RN license in the state of Rhode Island
  • 3+ years of clinical experience in adolescent emergency or behavioral health setting preferred
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification; PALS within 6 months
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training (CPI) required within 3 months
