The new Department of Nursing at Providence College seeks to fill two tenure-track faculty positions to begin in the Fall 2025 semester. Candidates with an earned doctorate and advanced professional training in the areas of Medical Surgical Nursing, Public/Community Health Nursing, or Maternal Newborn Nursing are strongly encouraged to apply. An active unencumbered license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Rhode Island or eligibility to apply for such; five years of full-time, or equivalent, professional nursing clinical experience; two years of full-time, or equivalent, teaching experience in a baccalaureate or higher degree nursing program preferred.

This is an exciting and historic opportunity to join PC’s newly established School of Nursing and Health Sciences and shape an innovative, interdisciplinary curriculum for the next generation of students entering nursing and other health professions. Construction is well underway on the 150,000+ sq. ft state-of-the-art Ben Mondor Center for Nursing and Health Sciences that will house the School of Nursing and Health Sciences and future undergraduate and graduate programs. This facility will feature the latest classroom design and technologies and showcase expansive clinical simulation and research facilities. A student career education and advising center, along with conference and meeting space, will be included as part of the inspiring resources intended for the next generation of healthcare providers, faculty, and staff. This is a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to collaborate with other PC faculty to establish a new state-of-the-art teaching-learning classroom and laboratory that integrates biological and natural sciences into the health professions.

As the student body at Providence College grows increasingly diverse, we have a strong preference for candidates who demonstrate a deep commitment to and proven ability in supporting the success of students from historically marginalized economic, social, and cultural groups.
